Welcome to our August Newsletter

Newsletter special for August - 6 Cleanskin sweeter style Chambourcin (full bodied, not a rose style) for $72 delivered to the eastern seaboard. This sweeter style of Chambourcin is not one we usually release under a Bago Vineyards label. To order click here or phone 02 6585 7099.

Good news this month, our Chardonnay is back on the wine list again. Our new bottling of the Chardonnay is an unwooded style and has just a touch of sweetness to it. To order, you can visit our online store or phone 02 6585 7099. The Wild Lime Liqueur has also made a comeback after a few months (or years) absence from the shelves at Timbertown. To get hold of a bottle or two of the Wild Lime (limited quantities available), you will need to contact Andrew or Judy at Timbertown on 02 6586 4733.

In the pruning department we are almost finished for the year. The Merlot is now done, and little bit of Chambourcin on the hill remains, along with the very small patch of Chanel Paradisa. Mobbsy is still taking his time over in the Verdelho.

Winemaker Greg has his big annual trip to the Louth Races organised- he is taking a week off to travel out to the back of Bourke (literally) with a group of mates (boy’s weekend- the wives and partners will go along next year) for a day (or week) of fun and frivolity.

We recently had the Hastings Birdwatchers group visit Bago for a wander around the vineyard and farm to search for and identify local species of birds - 50 different birds were spotted during their excursion.

Next Grazing @ Bago is on the 21st August- If you have an interest in good, home cooked food, good company and a friendly night out (and the good wine of course) email mobbsy@bagovineyards.com.au or phone 02 6585 7099 to let Mobbsy know what dish you will be bringing along. Read more about our Slow Food Evenings on our Facebook page. This is our last Slow Food Evening for the winter season. We plan to do a few more sporadically throughout the year, and will be sure to let you know of the dates.

Steve Mobbs is making his next winemaking experience move from the South Island of New Zealand back to the northern hemisphere to a winery in Volkach, Germany called Max Müeller Wines for some Vintage experience.
