Chardonnay

A full fruit flavoured unwooded Chardonnay.  Bago Vineyards Chardonnay is a light, easy-drinking style wine, with a delightful fresh flavour and an attractive finish.

Our Chardonnay will cellar well, and served at a temperature between 10-12 degrees, it is an ideal accompaniment with light flavoured foods, as an aperitif or served with chicken and rich sauces, oily fish and crusty meat pies. Soft varietal characteristics of peaches and melon, a hint of lime with a palate delivering smooth fruit driven characters.

Verdelho

Verdelho is one of our mainstay varieties producing a consistent style each year. The aroma is nearly always tropical fruit salad and gives a false sense that the wine is sweet until it is tasted, and then displays a rounded mouth filling sensation and a long after taste. From Bago Vineyards the wine exhibits a heavier style with little noticeable acidity.

We consider it well matched to pasta dishes; heavier sauced seafoods, chicken dishes, some lighter curries and Asian dishes.

Savagnin

The Savagnin grape variety originated in eastern France and became confused with the Spanish Albarino variety in Australia.  In 2009 it was correctly identified as Savagnin, a variety more closely related to White Traminer or Gewurtztraminer than Sauvignon Blanc.

Bago Vineyards Savagnin exhibits a spicy aroma, with tropical fruits and ripe melons which expands through to the palate.  It has a delicate balance of citrus and warming spices leaving a soft, creamy but crisp after taste.

Well suited to dishes influenced by South East Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.

Viognier

(Pronouced Vion-nyee-yay)

One of the newer additions to our white family, a wine showing huge potential with aromas and palate quite different to our other white wines. It is a heavier style in mouth feel than Verdelho. Bago Viognier displays a strong floral aroma and taste.

A heavier style wine suited with creamy sauces and cheese dishes.

Cellaring mid range (3 to 5 years).

Jazz White

The Jazz White is made from a blend of Chardonnay, Verdelho and Viognier. It is a semi-sweet, full bodied wine with honey, toast and peach flavours, and good balancing acidity.

Light straw in colour, with a soft, fresh finish. The small amount of sweetness masks any acidity to give the wine a smooth mouth feel with a lingering creamy after taste. The wine portrays both the tropical fruit aromas of Verdelho and the floral aromas of Viognier.

An excellent wine to be matched with spicy Asian and Indian foods.

To be consumed with in 18 months of bottling.
